Terms of Service

Welcome to PetPottyBreak ("the App," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the PetPottyBreak mobile application and related services. By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use PetPottyBreak. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian.

2. Account Registration

To use the App, you must create an account using your phone number. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and current information
• Keep your account credentials secure
• Be responsible for all activity under your account
• Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App only for its intended purpose: tracking dog walks, logging potty breaks, and coordinating pet care with your pack. You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Upload content that is offensive, harmful, or violates the rights of others
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
• Interfere with the App's functionality or other users' experience
• Use the App to harass, abuse, or harm another person
• Upload malicious content, viruses, or harmful code
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App

4. User Content

You may upload content to the App, including dog photos, potty event photos, and text notes ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content, but you grant us a limited license to store, display, and process it as necessary to provide the App's features.

You are responsible for ensuring that your User Content does not violate these Terms or any applicable laws. We reserve the right to remove User Content that violates these Terms.

5. Pack Sharing

The App allows you to invite other users to your dog's "pack" to share care responsibilities. When you join or create a pack:

• Your display name, dog profiles, and activity logs are shared with all pack members
• Pack members can view and log walks and potty events for shared dogs
• You can leave a pack or remove members you have invited at any time

You are responsible for only inviting people you trust to your pack.

6. Push Notifications

The App may send push notifications to keep you informed about walk updates, potty events, and pack activity. You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings.

7. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, logos, icons, and code, is owned by PetPottyBreak and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the App without our prior written consent.

8. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services including Firebase (by Google) for authentication, data storage, push notifications, and backend processing, and Sentry for crash reporting. Your use of the App is also subject to:

• Google Terms of Service
• Google Privacy Policy
• Sentry Terms of Service

9. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
• The App will meet your specific requirements
• Any data stored in the App will be preserved indefinitely

PetPottyBreak is a tool to help track pet care activities. It is not a substitute for veterinary advice. Always consult a veterinarian for health concerns about your pet.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PetPottyBreak and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to:

• Loss of data or information
• Any harm to your pet arising from reliance on the App
• Unauthorized access to your account
• Service interruptions or downtime

11. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the App's Settings screen or by visiting our account deletion page. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Upon account deletion, your account information will be removed. Walk and potty event records may be retained as part of shared pack history. See our Privacy Policy for details on data retention.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes, we will:

• Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
• For significant changes, notify you through the App or other appropriate means

Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the courts of the United States.
